Jenny’s family have been farming in East Anglia since 16th Century. She has a long career as a freelance farm business administrator behind her and now with a family grown and a mid-life flourish is embarking on a second career as a landscape artist.
Throughout secondary school and during her late teens she was encouraged and inspired by two excellent teachers, Reg Carr and Gretchen Kiddy. In 2001-02 a fine art course at Kent Institute of Art and Design re-ignited Jenny’s talent, with emphasis on the importance of drawing, colour and observation. Art History was also an important element of the course. Jenny always found herself drawn to the impressionists, particularly Pissarro and Van Gogh, their influence can be seen in her work.
Jenny still works with farmers, in and around the village where she lives and paints and now besides recording economic facts and figures about each field she also creates pastel paintings with a feel of the land that she knows so well.
